Sukses bintangi Spider-Man, Kirsten Dunst bakal perankan Melancholia. Kirsten mengambil peran yang seharusnya dilakoni oleh Penelope Cruz.

Dalam film besutan Lars Von Trier ini, Kirsten didaulat sebagai bintang utamanya. Melancholic merupakan film action, drama sekaligus sci-fi. Kabarnya, Johnny Depp akan jadi lawan main Kirsten di film ini.

Melancholia rencananya akan diproduksi pada bulan Juli hingga September mendatang, dan akan mengambil tempat di Swedia Selatan. Deretan artis yang ikut berkecimpung dalam film ini diantaranya Charlote Gainsburg, Alexander Skarsgard dan Kiefer Sutherland.

Nama Kirsten Dunst di jagad perfilman memang sudah mulai diperhitungkan. Mulai dari peran Mary Jane Watson di tiga film Spider-Man. Sebelumnya ia bintangi Mona Lisa Smile tahun 2003 bersama artis kawakan Julia Roberts.

Pertikaian dengan mantan kekasihnya, Chris Brown, tak membuat karier Rihanna merosot. Justru sebaliknya. Penyanyi asal Barbados ini sedang berada di puncak,pasalnya single Rude Boy dari album Rated R, lima minggu berturut-turut berada di puncak tangga lagu pop di Amerika Serikat. Hingga saat ini, belum ada yang berani menggeser posisinya.

Rude Boy Rihanna ungguli BoB dengan hits Nothin On You, disusul Hey Soul Sister milik Train, yang bertengger di posisi dua dan tiga.

Sementara hits dari Taio Cruz yang bertitel Back Your Heart serta hits In My Head dari Jason DeRulo didepak dari posisi lima besar.

Jack Johnson dengan debutnya yang berjudul You and Your Heart, duduk di posisi 20 dalam jajaran Hot 100. Penyanyi yang baru menggelar konser To The Sea ini menjadi new entry paling sukses.

Film ini dijamin bikin lo ngakak abis. Meski berbau kriminal dan action, tapi di sisi lain, unsur komedi lebih mendominasi.

Aktor kawakan, Bruce Willis yang biasanya bermain dalam lakon yang serius, kini bisa sedikit ngebanyol bareng lawan mainnya, Tracy Morgan yang nggak kalah gokil.

Menegangkan sekaligus menggelikan. Jimmy Monroe (Bruce Willis) adalah seorang detektif veteran NYPD yang dipecat oleh atasannya karena melakukan kebodohan saat melakukan penyelidikan bersama rekannya Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan), yang juga ikut dipecat.

Jimmy saat itu ingin menjual sebuah kartu bisbol langka. Kartu tersebut adalah satu-satunya harapan untuk membayar pernikahan putrinya. Saat akan menjualnya, kartu tersebut dicuri oleh Dave yang diperankan oleh Sean William Scott. Dave menjual kartu tersebut oleh seorang kolektor base ball yang juga penjahat kelas kakap asal Amerika Latin, bernama Poh Boy.

Segala usaha ditempuh oleh Jim dan Paul demi menangkap Poh Boy and the gank. Di sinilah aksi gokil sekaligus menegangkan dimulai demi merebut kartu tersebut. Apakah Jim bisa merebut kartu base ball itu dan membayar pesta pernikahan putrinya?

Kick Ass

Adapted from Mark Millar's hyper-violent comic book of the same name, director Matthew Vaughn's (Layer Cake) vigilante superhero film tells the tale of an average New York teenager who decides to don a costume and fight crime. Comic book geek Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) may not have good coordination or special powers, but that doesn't mean he isn't a fully capable crime fighter. After purchasing a flashy wet suit on the Internet, Dave starts busting up baddies with nothing but brute force. He calls himself Kick-Ass, and he can take a beating as good as he can dish one out. Before long, Kick-Ass has become a local sensation, and others are following his lead. Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) are a father-daughter crime-fighting duo who have set their sights on local mob heavy Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong). They're doing a decent job of dismantling Frank's sizable underworld empire when Kick-Ass gets drawn into the fray. But Frank's men play rough, and his son, Chris (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), is about to become Kick-Ass' very first arch nemesis. When Chris assumes the persona of Red Mist, the stage is set for a superhero showdown that could spell the end of Kick-Ass once and for all.

Tonight on American Idol we said good bye to both Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens. An unfortunate turn of events for the young Stevens after the judges used their save on Big Mike last week.

I understand with Andrew Garcia because he has given one bad performance after another but last night’s version of “Hound Dog” was about the worst I had heard from him this season. So the front runner going into the top 24 with his superb take on Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up” is going home. There were too many expectations for Garcia after singing that in the auditions and he never could deliver and was always compared to that one vocal.

I felt sorry for Katie. After a shaky start in the Top 24 she began to come alive and the last couple of weeks really delivered some top rate songs. I’m surprised to see Aaron Kelly still there as I thought he deserved to go home tonight in place of Katie. She sang “Let it Be” and held it together but bless her heart, burst into tears right when it was over. Give Katie a couple of years and a little voice training and I think we will see her again.

Did you think America got it right with the eliminations?

There was little musically on Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy last year to prevent Axl Rose from becoming the perpetual butt of jokes about overambition/ego, but the guitarist from when the band was good, Slash, has been working on a solo album relatively quietly.

At a Marshall Classic Rock Roll of Honour event Monday, Slash told a reporter, "It's pretty much done. I've got a couple of songs left to mix and I've got one song left to record which I'm doing as soon as I leave here, after I head back tomorrow."

While Slash was legally obligated to keep mum on collaborations, rumored names include Fergie, Chris Cornell, Ozzy Osbourne (!), and Dave Grohl.

The album is scheduled to be released in some time early 2010. I think we can trust Slash on this one.

This means we haven’t had a new Gorillaz album since Demon Days was released way back in 2005. But fans of the animated satirical anti-band won’t have to wait much longer for new material, with the third album due for release in 2010.
